HOLY! Can I just say how GOOD it feels to be blogging again?? Its literally been months and I don't know why I ever stopped, but I'm back!! I'm starting a new journey today that I want to document - both for myself and for others!
To say this least year or so has been a struggle is a bit of an understatement! I've been going through a lot in my personal and business life, and its been hard at time to learn how to balance and manage it all. Since the start of 2016, I've still been chugging along on my journey, but for the last year my journey has been moreso about maintaining rather than progressing.
I'm not at all trying to lose a ton of weight here. I lost the majority of my weight 3 years ago when I first joined a challenge group with my coach online. I went from 233.6 lbs all the way down to 151 over the course of about 10-12 months! Since then, I have gained about 20 lbs back and been hovering at that spot for AWHILE now.
The thing about that is that I'm not mad I gained some weight back. That number on the scale doesn't take away the hard work I put in to lose that initial 80 lbs. And these days, I know that the number doesn't define me or my success on my journey. The old me probably would have seen that number creep back up and would have FREAKED OUT. But these days, I know that its not the end of the world, because I'm not placing my worth in that little number. Sure - it motivates me to wanna get my shit together, but thats as far as I let the scale affect me and my emotions.
So my ultimate goal right now is to yes, get those 20 lbs back off...but more than anything, I want to just MAKE PROGRESS.
I want to fit into jeans that are a little too snug for me at the moment.
I want to feel AMAZING on the beach in Punta Cana next month (holy shit thats coming fast!)
I want to have a killer transformation to show others so that THEY are inspired to get back on the horse.
So today begins a new adventure! I am starting the program Insanity Max 30 with my dude Shaun T and I can't wait for him to kick my ass into gear! I will be sharing this 8 week journey with you all, so keep checking back as I update my progress and share some of my favorite meals and things as I go through the program! I am ready for an INSANE journey ahead!!
WHY INSANITY MAX 30?
Over the last 3 years, I've completed tons of Beachbody's fitness and nutrition plans - this is exclusively how I've lost 80 lbs from home. No gym, no extra workouts with a trainer, just following these programs just like they are designed!
There are a few reasons I decided to go with Max 30 this time around:
1) The first time I did it, I didn't complete the entire round and I'm determined to finish it once and for all!!
2) Shaun T is my DUDE. He helped me SO much my first year of my weight loss journey - he is so motivating and high energy, and I love his programs!
3) The nutrition plan rocks and is very easy to follow -- today I had a taco bowl WITH cheese, thank you very much! I can't do restricting diets or meal plans, so this is perfect for me!
4) Its only 30 minutes a day, no equipment. 30 minutes?? Shiiiiit....EVERYBODY'S got time for that!

I can't wait to take you guys through this journey with me! And just know that the one thing that keeps me going and coming back, even when I fail and gain a few lbs back here and there, is the support from my challenge group. Without that support and accountability factor, who knows if I would be back here giving this another shot.
I will be opening up a BRAND NEW health, wellness & mindset community in April for anyone thats ready to put some work and effort into creating their best life possible! If you're interested in joining and want more info on how you can get started with Insanity Max 30 or any of the other amazing programs I've done over the years, shoot me an email at alexaeatsclean@gmail.com and I can help ya out! Do NOT go on this journey alone -- I got your back sister!
